    Saludos Amigos Full Description

    In Saludos Amigos, Walt Disney himself embarks on a Good Neighbor policy, as he and a group of his studio artists, writers and musicians take a working tour of South America. Dubbed El Groupo, Walt's merry gang sets off on a tour of Brazil, Argentina, and Chile, with some of the film footage shot by Walt himself. The beautiful travel locales inspire a dazzling range of sketches, paintings, stories and music, and soon, Saludos Amigos moves from the real world to an animated South American adventure. Not just your typical American tourist, the one-and-only Donald Duck joins the fun, and Saludos Amigos' animated merriment begins. Donald, dressed in local fashion, rents a llama to travel along a mountainside, but encounters a treacherous rope bridge over a deep valley. Both Donald Duck and the llama have different ideas on how to safely get across the bridge, and a hilarious scene ensues. Moving to Chile, Saludos Amigos introduces a delightful animated airplane, Pedro, a little flyer who is still earning his wings. When Papa Plane falls ill, it's up to Pedro to deliver the mail, if he can make it over the stormy mountains between Santiago and Mendoza. In the Pampas region, Goofy is a cowboy trying to do things the gaucho way, but his attempts go uproariously awry. Finally, at the Carnival in Rio, Walt's artists create Joe Carioca, the dapper parrot, who teaches Donald Duck the samba and then the two friends go out for a merry tour of the city.
